Fantasy Six Nations 2020 Preview – Wales

With Saturday 1st February 2020 fast approaching, it’s time to delve a bit deeper into this year’s potential fantasy Six Nations stars. So over the next two weeks FRG is providing a quick preview of all the teams from a fantasy perspective. Today we look at Wales…

Wales

In a nutshell

Wales had a stellar 2019, taking home a Grand Slam, reaching the pinnacle of the World Rankings and reaching the semi-fials of the Rugby World Cup with some stunning performances along the way. Despite all this, in the bookies eyes they are not favourites for the Six Nations with most markets putting them at 3rd in the pecking order. They have had some significant injuries to some of their key personnel in recent times with the likes of Gareth Anscombe, Liam Williams, Taulupe Faletau and Jonathan Davies all suffering from lengthy lay-offs. Despite this, they are more than a match for any team and fantasy managers will be well rewarded for placing their faith in the Welsh talents.

2019 saw Josh Adams firmly establish himself as a genuinely World Class tryscoring talent and he should be in and around most fantasy teams. Elsewhere, the ageless Alun Wyn Jones remains a crucially important part of the Welsh engine room, the Welsh back row continues to impress in its depth with the likes of Wainwright, Navidi, Tipuric, Faletau and Moriarty and the half back pairing of Davies and Biggar represents a tremedous attacking combination.
