Fantasy Rugby Tips, Picks and Pre-match Thoughts – Guinness Six Nations 2020 Round 3

Welcome to our third instalment of our weekly pre-match updates for the Guinness 2020 Six Nations where we analyse the weekend’s lineups, crunch the stats and see what the bookies are thinking to help you optimise your lineups for peak performance this weekend! By the time you finish this article you should have all the insight you need to score big fantasy points this weekend.

What will go down…

Into Round 3 and possibly the tightest looking of all the Rounds so far. Three matches and no really glaring mismatches, however the bookies are quite clear on who they believe will end the weekend victorious.

First up in Rome is Italy v Scotland, the match that will likely decide the destination of this year’s wooden spoon. Scotland will be looking to inflict more pain on a disappointing Italy side, and despite the Azzurri having home advantage, the bookies are expecting Scotland to beat Italy by 8 points.

Next up at the Principality is Wales v France. Despite France getting off to a flying start, the bookies are expecting home advantage to be too much of a factor with Wales winning by 6. Either way this will be a true test as to whether the French young guns are starting to live up to their huge potential.

Finally at Twickenham there is a colossal clash in the form of England v Ireland. Again the bookies are expecting home advantage to be a critical factor with England expected to beat Ireland by 7 points according to those pricing the market up.

Under-the-radar pick

Ali Price – The Scrum Half options this weekend are stacked with exciting attacking options, what with the man who has been arguably the player of the tournament, Antoine Dupont, lining up, as well as the king of the intercept try, the explosive Gareth Davies making his return after the RWC. But if you are looking for a differential option at 9, then go with Scotland’s Ali Price. Price is a lethal attacker with pace to burn and he should be a big attacking threat against the disjointed defence. If you’re looking for something different, then the Price is right!
