Thank you
Today Fantasy Rugby Geek celebrates becoming one year old.
What started out as little side project to kill time on my commute, primarily to learn WordPress (but to also write about one of my favourite subjects), has grown into something far bigger and has resulted in building a great community of Fantasy Rugby enthusiasts. While Fantasy Football is well catered for with a plethora of blogs and tips sites, there was limited coverage of Fantasy Rugby. I hope that this site and that great work that my fellow hardy Fantasy Rugby bloggers are doing is helping to change this for Fantasy Rugby players.
The growth of this site in 12 months is entirely down to you, the readers. Your feedback and support from all over the globe has kept me going throughout, even through the tougher moments where I struggled to eke out the time to knock out the weekly tips (Round 17 of the Premiership Rugby season was a particular slog!). I’m proud that, due to you spurring me on via the site/Twitter/Facebook/Insta, I haven’t missed a single Premiership, Super Rugby, Six Nations or Champions Cup weekly tips. Thank you to you all. Here’s to the next 12 months which will culminate with none other than the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
One of the biggest challenges that I have faced in managing the website is covering the costs of domains, hosting, etc. The last thing I want to do is ask for donations without offering something in return. So today, in an effort to hopefully get you to part with your hard earned cash to support the growth of fantasyrugbygeek.com, I am proud to introduce FRG’s latest project…
Fantasy Rugby eBook
To celebrate the 1-year milestone; today I am excited to share with you something I have been working hard on to help fund the continued running of FantasyRugbyGeek.com. A new project for FRG. Our first ever Fantasy Rugby eBook.
This book captures the knowledge and experience gained in over a decade of obsessive fantasy rugby playing, captured on paper and made available in book form. Whether you are new to the game of Fantasy Rugby or are a hardened veteran looking for the edge to take you from mid-table to leading the way, there will hopefully be something of value here for all of you.
This book is a guide, not a failsafe “system” for success. As in all sports there is an element of luck involved, however, this guide will show you where you can minimise the unknowns and focus on the key areas that can guarantee you the edge over your rivals. The book also brings together some of the best blog posts from the last year pulled together in one simple guide.
Included in the book is…
- For the beginners, an introduction to the sport of rugby and an overview of the positions (and what they mean in fantasy terms)
- A detailed summary of all the top fantasy games for Premiership Rugby, Super Rugby, Six Nations and Champions Cup (and exhaustive insight on how to gain a huge advantage over your rivals in all of them)
- Interviews with previous winners giving their secrets to success
- Stacks of essential links to invaluable fantasy rugby resources
- A complete A-Z of Fantasy Rugby Terminology.
The eBook is available to download now for £4.99 on Gumroad as a PDF and on Amazon in Kindle format (Free on Kindle Unlimited) – check it out! Proceeds from the sales of the eBook will go straight back into managing and maintaining FantasyRugbyGeek.com and to ensure that it keeps running for the foreseeable future.
To celebrate the birthday of FantasyRugbyGeek.com and to thank you for your support, for the next two weeks prior to the Premiership season start, there is a discount of 20% off the Fantasy Rugby eBook at Gumroad, simply enter the code “birthday20” at the checkout
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I want to make future editions of as much value to you all as possible, so if you have any feedback, please get in touch via our contact page.
