It’s time! If you are new to Fantasy Rugby Geek, then welcome to our first instalment of our weekly pre-match updates for the Guinness 2021 Six Nations where we analyse the weekend’s lineups, crunch the stats and see what the bookies are thinking to help you optimise your lineups for peak performance this weekend! By the time you finish this article you should have all the insight you need to score big fantasy points this weekend.
What will go down…
The biggest potential for big fantasy scores this weekend goes down at Twickenham, where a chastened England side take on Italy. Eddie Jones has named a conservative and highly starting XV and they will be looking to take out their frustrations from on last week’s disappointing performance against Scotland on Azzuri side who will be very low on confidence. The bookies expect England to show no mercy and have set the line at a 37 point margin of victory for England.
At Murrayfield, a buoyant Scotland team will take on an injury-ridden Wales side who ground out a tough victory against a 14-man Ireland in Round 1. Wales’ injury list is something else; Lydiate, Navidi, Macleod, T Williams, J Williams, North, Jon Davies, Amos & Adams and so they have named a heavily updated Squad for this weekend. Scotland were magnificent at Twickenham on Saturday and will be looking to continue that form this weekend. The bookies agree, giving Scotland the win by a 5 point margin.
Finally, in Dublin on Sunday, Ireland take on France. Ireland put up a spirited fight against Wales last week, even after O’Mahony’s Red card, but they still may not have quite what it takes to defeat the hugely impressive France side, spearheaded by the untouchable Antoine Dupont. The bookies are expecting a close one, but is still leaning towards Les Bleus with a 4 point winning margin.
